Full Tilt

This was a real departure from my normal color palette. I have a very good friend that has recently had knee replacement surgery and this card is for her. She is involved with the Red Hats so when I make cards for her I normally use these colors. This past couple of years she has had some health issues and in the hospital a couple of times and the last time she was there she said it was almost worth it for all the homemade cards that she knew she would receive. I couldn't disappoint her. It really is so much fun to make special cards for people that you know will really appreciate them.

To make this card, I first started with Papertrey's Guidelines set and CTMH Hydrangea and Holiday Red inks. I really do love love love that set, but it takes me forever to create my backgrounds with it. I think if I used it a little more I would get better, I always have to do a little practice sheet first. The image and sentiment are both from Art Impressions. She is colored with Prismacolor pencils. The ribbon was from my stash, and it finished off the roll, I was happy to find that I had exactly enough to tie that bow.

So I kept Kip's eight year old niece and nine year old nephew last night. We have watched them before, but it is the first time that we have watched them since we go married. I was ready with planned activities! They brought Bolt and we watched that and then we made flubber. Lots of fun at my house. Yes, I am that aunt/friend that will always let the kids do messy stuff. I always give art supplies or books for gifts too. People love me! Well the kids love me and their parents always say thank you with that tone in their voice. You know that tone, the one that says thank you but really means "are you insane for giving my kid a couple of reams of paper!" Hope you have all had a great weekend. Thanks for dropping by, I love reading your comments, they really encourage me.

Oh how I do love this!!! I have been considering Papertrey's guideline set and wondered how it was to use. I got the quilt set and it is recommended for that... glad to get to see it at work! Your image is wonderful and just plain fun!

Ha, ha!! Remind me never to allow any small children I know to come within a mile of you!! Actually, I like to give noisy toys to certain people - revenge for what they did to me when my son was small....
.......anyhow, LOVE the card! And I'm sure your friend will too. Where did you get the image?
