Good evening! Tomorrow I am teaching my first Copic classes at my LSS, The Scrap Room. I have two beginning classes scheduled for tomorrow and this is one of the cards we will be making. One of the reasons that I chose this image was because of the size of it, I thought it might be easier for beginners to learn to shade on something that wasn't teeny tiny. The stamp is from Hero Arts and I cannot remember who makes that polka dot paper. I just looked at it right before I came upstarts to start this post too! I am going to blame it on being tired and not getting older, so play along with me. The image was colored with Copic markers, I added some rhinestones from Hobby Lobby to the center, and the ribbon and red card stock are from Jo-Ann's.
Speaking of classes at my LSS, I was able to take a class there last night and had a great time. The class was taught by Courtney, who has recently released her first stamp set. You can find Courtney's blog
here and the store where you can purchase the stamps
here. The name of the set is Key to My Heart. I liked the fact that even though they are kind of Valentiny that they will work for any love notes or anniversary type cards. I also liked the fact that we made cards that weren't in traditional Valentine colors and to me that made the stamp set more versatile. Not only did we make the three cards, she also taught me how to make those ribbon ruffles!
Thanks for stopping in and visiting with me!

Congratulations for teaching your first Copics class. That's wonderful. I love your flower and how you colored it. Pairing the orange with the black and white polka dots is lovly.

Love that gorgeous flower card, so vibrant and I'm a sucker for polka dots LOL!
I haven't attempted the copic world yet but your coloring is wonderful!!! Love the key cards too.
Hey Gina,
Enjoyed the class yesterday. I knew some basics, but still gained a lot from being in the class. Looking forward to the Advanced class!
Congrats on teaching your first copics class! I love how you colored that flower, it's absolutley gorgeous!
Hugs, Christine
Wish I could be there - I have a few and do use them on occasion, but certainly not proficient. Lovely card.
Your flower is beautiful and I love the torn paper on the key card. great work! :)
I have such a hard time with tiny spaces and coloring. The tendonitis in my thumb doesn't help my coloring skills either. I've said this many times, but what I love about copics is that your image will still look good even if you are terrible at shading. I recently saw that Courtney had put out a stamp set. Looking forward to seeing what other sets she puts out. I love a set that can be used all year round like my Halloween Henry set.
Woo hoo! Where have I been. I need to make sure I add you to my reader so I can keep up! So glad your class went good and your cards look awesome!
that Hero flower is GORGEOUS!!
