Twisted Thursday--Use RED!

Hello, hello, hello!! I can't believe it is already that time of year again, I mean where did the summer go? School started on Monday, I don't know where July went. Shirley's 2 Girls has some darling new back to school images that are just now being released. I love all the back to schools supplies and everything. I remember being a little girl and going shopping with my mom for the perfect school supplies, I still love new notebooks and pens and papers. Our Twisted Thursday challenge this week is to use the color RED. I decided to make some reading logs and I think this one will go to my niece. For each grading period they have a reading goal and then a little award assembly to recognize the kids that meet their goals. They have little prizes for different milestones too. I try to go to all these and they always beg me to sign them out and take them home. I am thinking we can use these as a way to encourage them to meet or surpass the goal. There are lots of pages in these composition books for them to record the books they have read. Plus they are both at an age now that I can read some of the same books. I know that encouraged my older nephew to read more. He loved it when we read the Harry Potter series, the Chronicles of Narnia and a few others and then we would discuss them. I am hoping to do something like that again this year.

Onto the project: I used Copic markers to color my image and some red and black card stocks from DCWV and PP that I got from Target last year. My ribbon boarder is from Offray and I used the Slim Jim alphabet set from Sizzix to punch out my letters.

We would love it if you would join us this week. Create your own project and don't forget to add the Twist of the color RED and then link it to the challenge blog! The rest of the design team also have some awesome projects using some of the other new images, you can find their links on my sidebar.
