New Year's Twisted Thursday

Hello! Doesn't my Christmas Cheer woman look like she is relaxing after a perfect Christmas celebration? Kicked back in her favorite comfy chair with a good glass of wine; sounds good to me! Our Twisted Thursday challenge is all about New year's this week. Don't forget to check out the huge sale going on at the S2G shop, great prices so you can stock up on some of your favorites.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas. We aren't quite done yet, due to the weather last weekend we were unable to make it to see my family so we will probably get together with them in the next week or so. Other than that, it was a wonderful Christmas. I will post some pics as soon as we finish celebrating.

Happy New Year!! If you are out and about please be careful.

Twisted Thursday--Glitter and Bling

Welcome to another Twisted Thursday! Our challenge this week is to use GLITTER and BLING. Shirley's 2 Girls have got some great Christmas images, Isn't that little mouse peeking out of the stocking just adorable? For my bling I added rhinestones onto the stocking and for glitter I used some glittery Spica marker on the stocking and my poinsettia has been misted with Glimmer Mist. We would love for your to join our Glitter and Bling Challenge, just create your project and link it to our challenge blog.

I just bought my first bottle of Glimmer Mist recently and I do not know what took me so long! My LSS carries this and I had looked at it over and over again and never took any home until about a month ago. The last time I was at the LSS, they had restocked and had lots of new shiny colors. Hmmm, maybe I need to tell Santa that those would make great stocking stuffers! I know Santa reads my blog sometimes so who knows? I may have a very glittery Christmas.

Buttons and Bows Twisted Thursday

Welcome to another Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday! Our twist this week was to use buttons and bows on our project. I love this image, the look on the cat's face is too funny. One of the sentiments that comes with this image says "one more 'boing and you are a goner" and that sentiment is going on the inside of  my card. we would love for you to join us in the challenge this week!

Twisted Thursday--Falling Leaves

Welcome to another S2G's Twisted Thursday challenge! The Twist this week is to use falling leaves on your project. I just adore scarecrow images and this one is just too cute I think. I used paper called "Falling Leaves" along with some card stock from DCWV. Image was colored with Copic markers and I used a Martha Stewart punch to punch out my leaves in different colors. Want to play along? Create your project then link it to the challenge blog for your chance to win a free digi. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT, they have some cool stuff to show off too.

I haven't been around much this week. We went to South Carolina last weekend so that I could spend some time with my Great Aunt. It was a wonderful trip, great weather, lots of time to visit and chat, but we both have really bad colds now. My nose is stuffy, I can't quit coughing or sneezing and my eyes are so runny I can't color or even read too long. It's just a cold, but it is really kicking my butt. I am hoping that soon I feel somewhat human again! Especially since today is my hubby's birthday and I have a dinner plans for family and some friends. I will show his card tomorrow since he sometimes checks my blog!

My bubble look very dark in the picture for some reason, but they are  really green. I used paper from DCWV, trick or treat image and candy are from K&Co. We would love for you to join our challenge this week. DOn't forget the rest of the DT, they have great samples to show too!

S2G Spots and Dots Challenge

Welcome to another S2G Twisted Thursday!! Our twist this week is to use SPOTS or DOTS on your project. I think this cat popping out of the pumpkin is just too cute. He's got one of those mischievous looks on his face, just daring you to get on to him for being inside the pumpkin in the first place. As the owner of three cats, I know that look very well. I used the Shirley's 2 Girls Hallow Scream digi and colored everything with Copics. My papers are from The Paper Studio and the pumpkin border is from K & Co.

One thing I really like about the S2G images is that they come with a couple of different sentiments you can add. Having two or three to choose from make them more versatile to me. I usually put my sentiments on the inside or add them when I am going to send the card. What I do is when I print out the digi to color, I also print out the sentiments and then will paper clip them to the inside of the card and when it is ready to go, I add the sentiment that is most appropriate to the recipient.

Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's samples! Links are in my side bar. Also you might want to play along with us. Simply create your own Halloween project and then link it to the challenge blog. You can even see a sample there of the digi that is being awarded this week. Have a great day!

S2G's Black and White Challenge

Welcome to another S2G Twisted Thursday!! No, the color has not left your monitor, our challenge this week was to use the provided sketch and to make a black and white card. My friend Angela has made several black and white cards that I have admired but this is my first attempt to use only those two colors. I do black and white a lot but I usually add one other color or at least my image has different colors in it. I really like the way this one turned out too. My image is from Shirley's 2 Girls and was colored with Copic markers. I pained over the moon with some Twinkling H20 paints for some shimmer and added some Liquid Applique to the bubbles in the cauldron for some dimension. Papers are DCWV.
The rest of the DT has some awesome projects to show you featuring even more of the great Halloween images, don't forget to check them out too!

Here is the sketch. Want to join us this week for a chance to win a S2G image? Use the sketch below and create your own black and white project and then link it to the challenge blog.

BOO! It's another Twisted Thursday

It is another Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday! Our twist this week is BOO! Not too hard this time of year is it? I just absolutely love playing with Halloween images, and the ones from S2G are just so cute. I had to give my witch an orange cat in honor of my own cat Dewey. I have several BOOs on my project, the background paper from The Paper Studio has the word printed several times and then I have the big BOO!  that is from that awesome pack of Halloween die cuts from K & Co.  We would love for you to join our challenge, simply create your own BOOtiful project and then link it to the challenge blog so we can see it. The rest of the DT have some more wonderful images and projects to share too.
Other supplies: ribbon from Michael's, I used a Nestability frame and colored everything with Copic Markers.

Make your own project using the colors orange and purple then link it to our challenge site. Thanks for visiting and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT for more inspiration.

Twisted Thursday-Let's Get SPOOKY!!

Happy Thursday to you! I think my absolute images, especially holiday related ones have to be Halloween images. I just can't get enough of them. Not sure, why, but they are just so fun to play with, you can go a little wild with the coloring and just have fun. Our challenge this week for Twisted Thursday is to make a spooky card. I colored this S2G Love at First Bite image with Copic markers and then cut out around the image. I went over the cape with some black Stickles for some shine and then added him to my card with some foam dots for dimension. My tree was cut out with a Sizzix die and the tombstone border was made using a Martha Stewart punch. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's projects too. Want to play along? Create your own SPOOKY project and then link it here to the challenge site.

Shirley's 2 Girls will be hosting Digi Day on SNR tonight from 5-6 PST. We would love for you to join our group over there and then join in on all the fun. We will have a free digi, some chatting, a challenge and some more chatting for an evening of fun!

Twisted Thursday--All about Birthdays

Hello and welcome to another Shirley's 2 girls Twisted Thursday! This week the twist is all about birthdays. Isn't that a great sentiment when you want to rub it in that someone (especially someone older than you) is getting on up there in years. I love that dog holding the "woof woff" sign too. My image was colored with Copic markers and I used paper from DCWV, ribbon and star brads from Hobby Lobby.

Want to play along with us? Simply create your birthday project and then link it HERE for a chance to win your choice of S2G images.

Twisted Thursday--Use Flocking or Feathers

Welcome to another Shirley's 2 Girls Twisted Thursday!! And out twist is to use either flock or feathers. This was a great challenge for me and the timing was just right since I just found my bin of flocking stuff this past week. Isn't that rooster just the cutest? As much as I love the rooster, I really like the sentiments that came with this image too. I colored my image with Copic markers and then used both red and brown flocking on him. I decided to go with a farm look here, with my gingham paper and "hay bales". Gingham paper is from The Paper Studio, card stock is from DCWV and the flock is from Doodlebug. My hay bundles are pieces of yellow paper cut very thin and then tied with a piece of brown paper. Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to check out the rest of the DT!

Twisted Thursday-Use Letter!

Hello! The Twisted Thursday challenge this week is to use letters on your project. This is another darling image from the Shirley's 2 Girls back to school release. I don't even have kids to get ready for school, no teacher gifts to make or anything, but I have had a ball with these new images. I do have a couple of friends that are teachers and I have learned from them that keeping pencils around can be pretty difficult. So that inspired my pencil box idea. I started with a plain wooden box from Michael's and painted it black. I punched out letters from thin chipboard to make my letters for the challenge using the Sizzix Twang alphabet. I printed off my image after sizing it to fit the box. Here is a close up of the image:
I colored my image using Copic markers and then used some yellow paper as a background. My cute little pencil also came from the do-it-yourself wood section at Michael's--I didn't paint it, it came that way! Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's creations!

Also, if you are free tonight, Shirley's 2 Girls will be hosting Digi Day on SNR tonight from 5:00-6:00 (PST). We will be showcasing "tailgating recipes". Join us if you can.

Want another free S2G image to play with? Join our group on Paper Craft Planet and you will find a free image on the group page. We are also doing a challenge using the free image for a chance to win even more images!

Twisted Thursday--Use the color YELLOW!

Using the color yellow is not a challenge for me at all, so I loved this week's challenge. I am loving these new Shirley's 2 Girls back to school images. Not only are they great for back to school, but several are great images to use to when presenting a gift card to a bookstore. I colored my "bookworm" with Copic markers and used some Glossy accents on the glasses.  I added a yellow bow and then a little flower with a sequin for the center.

Using the same image, I also made a gift card holder. All you have to do is untie the bow on this and you will find a gift card to Books a Million. Other than a craft store, that is my favorite place to receive a gift card from!

We would love for you to join us this week in our challenge! Simply create your project using the color YELLOW and then link it to the S2G Challenge Blog. Need some additional inspiration? Check out the rest of the DT blogs!

Twisted Thursday--Use Notebook Paper

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome to another Twisted Thursday! I can't believe it is already time for school to start back, the summer has just flown by so quickly. Shirley's 2 Girls' have done it again, I love all these new back to school images, each one is just cuter than the last. Our twist this week is to use notebook paper on our project. I happened to have this cute notebook paper that I got from Jo-Ann's a while back, I like it because instead of being plain white, it is yellow which happens to be my favorite color. My image is colored with Copic markers and the blackboard paper is from DCWV. I used A Sizzix set called Rat-A-Tat for my ABCs. We would love to have you play along with us this week. Create your project, remembering to use the twist of notebook paper and then link it to the S2G challenge blog. Don't forget to check out the other DT blogs too.

Shirley's 2 Girls have also started a tutorial blog that can be found here. Keep checking back to see how to create some really awesome projects.

Twisted Thursday--Use RED!

Hello, hello, hello!! I can't believe it is already that time of year again, I mean where did the summer go? School started on Monday, I don't know where July went. Shirley's 2 Girls has some darling new back to school images that are just now being released. I love all the back to schools supplies and everything. I remember being a little girl and going shopping with my mom for the perfect school supplies, I still love new notebooks and pens and papers. Our Twisted Thursday challenge this week is to use the color RED. I decided to make some reading logs and I think this one will go to my niece. For each grading period they have a reading goal and then a little award assembly to recognize the kids that meet their goals. They have little prizes for different milestones too. I try to go to all these and they always beg me to sign them out and take them home. I am thinking we can use these as a way to encourage them to meet or surpass the goal. There are lots of pages in these composition books for them to record the books they have read. Plus they are both at an age now that I can read some of the same books. I know that encouraged my older nephew to read more. He loved it when we read the Harry Potter series, the Chronicles of Narnia and a few others and then we would discuss them. I am hoping to do something like that again this year.

Onto the project: I used Copic markers to color my image and some red and black card stocks from DCWV and PP that I got from Target last year. My ribbon boarder is from Offray and I used the Slim Jim alphabet set from Sizzix to punch out my letters.

We would love it if you would join us this week. Create your own project and don't forget to add the Twist of the color RED and then link it to the challenge blog! The rest of the design team also have some awesome projects using some of the other new images, you can find their links on my sidebar.

Twisted Thursday--Use Water, Waves or Wet!

Hello!! It summer and the perfect week for a water inspired challenge with Shirley's 2 Girls. Our Twisted Thursday challenge is to use WATER, WAVES or something WET on your project. I just love sand castles and this one was a lot of fun to play with, and what a great sentiment too. I started by coloring my image with Copic markers. I used some papers from DCWV and I chose those papers because the mosaic one reminded me of a pool liner and the other one is actually a piece of paper with waves cresting on a beach. To complete my beach theme here, I added a shell button and some star border. Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT too, we all have some really cute summer images.

Twisted Thursday--SPARKLE!!

Wow, it is already Thursday again, I can't believe it is already July! Well it is my favorite time of the week because it's time for another S2G Twisted Thursday! Our twist this week was to add some SPARKLE to our project. I started with my Mermaid image and colored her with Copic markers. For the sea grass behind her, I added some bluish green glitter glue. I also added some glittery chipboard accents. We would love to see your projects that you create, just remember to add some SPARKLE and then link it to the challenge site so we can come and visit you.

We have five new additions to the Shirley's 2 Girls design team. Welcome to Chris, Laurel, Mae, Melissa and Wendy! Plus you can go and check out these DT blogs for some more amazing inspiration: Ann, Cat, Debbie, Georgia, Jane and Judy

Twisted Thursday--Something New

Welcome to another Twisted Thursday! We are continuing our wedding theme this week with more of the gorgeous new Bride images. Our twist this week was to use something NEW! Not only did I use my new Church image, I also used a new loopy border punch and those lovely silver buttons. I colored the image with Copics, using papers from Making Memories, a Fiskars border punch, and silver button accents from Joile's. We would love for you to join us in this weeks challenge. Don't forget to take a look and see what the rest of the DT has created.
