Celebrate!

I have another great card to show you using a Pholkart Blessings image. I love images with balloons in it, and the fact that this one also has that cute cat makes me like this one even more. Pholkart Blessings has been kind enough to sponsor our current Card Cupids challenge. You can click here to see the needs for cards that Card Cupids has right now. The image is from Pholkart Blessings and was colored with Copics, the paper is Making Memories and the ribbon is from my stash.

I am off of work today so I am going to buy some peaches to can. I plan on just canning some of the peaches in a simple syrup, but I also want to make some peach preserves and some mixed fruit jams. I love this time of year!!

Good Morning! I hope you enjoyed the Card Cupids Blog Hop over the weekend, winners will be announced tomorrow, both on the individual blogs and on the  Card Cupids Blog.

Card Cupids New DT Blog Hop and a Chance to Win!

Welcome! We have an exciting announcement to make and a chance for you to win some adorable digis. Drumroll please..........Card Cupids is happy and proud to present the new design team members! All you have to do for a chance to win one of the adorable images below is to leave a comment on each of the DT members' blogs. That means you have 14 chances to win because we will each be drawing a lucky name for the comments on this blog post. You have until June 25th to leave your comment and the winners will be announced on the 27th.

As you visit the blogs of the DT members, each one will be introducing themselves to you.

That is me in the above, slightly blurry photo. I am normally the one behind the camera so I don't have lots of current photos except ones that I am either being goofy in or ones that includes my husband who is also probably making a goofy face.

Here are the DT members with links to their blogs:

Remember to comment on each blog for more chances to win the digis at the bottom of the post.

I am going to just list some random things about me so you can get to know me better:

***My husband Kip and I live in the Nashville, TN area, we've been married six and a half years.***

***We have two Tonkanese cats: Calvin and Hobbes***

***I have always been a crafty, making things type of girl, but stamping and card making happens to be my favorite thing to do***

***I am an avid reader, averaging 2-3 books a week***

***I collect Pez dispensers and have since I was a teenager and have 1000+ of the things***

***I rarely eat the candy, but orange ones are my favorite***

***I have an awesome, but slightly weird sense of humor***

***I adore musicals***

***I also love to cook and am pretty good at it***

***I am an equal opportunity hot beverage lover, I never miss morning coffee but I love hot teas too. When we travel, if there is a tea store nearby, we will be stopping***

***As a child, I had three back surgeries and spent lots of time in the hospital and recouping. I remember how exciting getting mail was and I am thrilled to be a part of Card Cupids***

***I can't stand celery because it offends most of my senses***

***I enjoy gardening and love canning my own foods***

***We enjoy traveling to new cities and exploring them***

***I love learning new things***

June Oldies But Goodies Blog Hop

It is time for another Designing DIVAS "Oldies Bur Goodies Blog Hop". The purpose of these blog hops is to encourage us to pull out some of those supplies that we bought and haven't used for at least six months. Hopefully you arrived here from Cindy's blog, if not you might want to start with Linda here. This is one of those stamps that I saw and had to have, I bought it at Papertrix in Indiana, probably about two years ago. I haven't used it though, I mean for what occasion does one need an elephant on a trapeze image? I still love it and it makes me smile every time I see it, so I finally decided to pull it out and use it for just that purpose; to hopefully make someone else smile! I have had the paper for a long time too, it is from a Debbie Mumm nursery pack that Jo-Ann's had on clearance and the little flower brads I bought at Michael's when I first started making cards.

Thanks for dropping by! Your next stop on the blog is Cindy P!

Grow

I have another card to show you that goes along with the Card Cupids challenge "Summer Fun". Isn't this image from Pholkart Blessings just adorable? For me, part of summer fun is planting and growing flowers and veggies. I love being outside in the dirt. My husband chuckles and calls me a "dirt nerd" because I can spend a lot of time out there getting dirty and if you ask me about my compost bin, I will talk forever! I grew up following behind my dad in his garden and it has never left my system. It's funny, because normally neither my Dad or me enjoy talking on the phone that much. Until the garden is planted that is. From the time things are blooming we are on the phone almost every day. Since his garden got in the ground early, he is already enjoying his veggies and he calls me every night to tell me what and how much he picked that day. The phone conversation is usually followed up with an email with photos too!

Would you like to a chance to win some Pholkart Blessings images of your own? For a chance to win two images all you have to do is play along with the Card Cupids Summer Fun challenge. We also have a new request for cards that was posted yesterday.

Have a great Day!!

Simply Challenged Betty Challenge

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was pretty great, I spent some time canning, which I love to do. I made two batches of blueberry jam and two batches of an orange cranberry spread. This is the first year that I have done any canning since Kip and I got married and I forgot how much I loved doing it. Our kitchen is on the very small side which is kind of limiting, but I decided I was going to make it work somehow this year.

Now on to my card! I decided to play along with the challenge on the Simply Challenged blog. We were challenged by Betty herself to make a project using one of the Betty images. I love this image, maybe because it reminds me of my morning face and clutching a mug of coffee. I wish I looked that good in the mornings though!! I used Morning Betty from Simply Betty Stamps, image was colored with Copics, paper is Basic Gray and buttons are American Crafts.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Card Cupid's Summer Fun Challenge

Welcome to another Card Cupids' Challenge! This challenge marks the first month that we are doing two challenges. For this challenge we are being sponsored by Pholkart Blessings and the challenge is SUMMER FUN. I know when I think "summer" I think of water so I chose to work with this adorable mermaid for my challenge card. We hope you will join our challenge for a chance to win some Pholkart Blessings images of your own. My card uses the image Mermaid Girl and it was colored with Copic markers and some pearl paint for her necklace. Papers are from DCWV, and I added some little clear baubles that I bought at Michael's a while back.

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Surfing Riley

Good Morning! I am finally able to get a post done, our internet has been giving us some problems. It works for a little while, then gets ssooooo sllloooowww and then doesn't work at all. After calling the cable company, they determined that they issue had something to do with something outside so they came and got it fixed for me. I missed it too!! The challenge this week on the Riley and Company blog is to make a card for the special male or Father's in our life. I decided to make a card for my brother who is a single dad. He and my niece and nephew love going to the beach so I thought a beach themed card would be perfect for him. I thought that Surfing Riley would make a perfect spinner card too, so that's what I did.

Here is another picture with Riley tumbling across the card.

Image is from Riley and Company, papers are from Jo-Anns and everything was colored with Copics.

Thanks for visiting today!!

Carousal Riley and Card Cupid Box

I am late posting today, I have been having some internet issues over the past few days and it's kind of hit and miss whether or not I have a connection. I wanted to share a couple of things. Card Cupids has a large list of names of children that could use some happy mail. There is a link on the blog's sidebar listing all the names of the children and the date that the cards are needed by, or you can click here for a direct link to the list.

I was getting my cards together to send in and realized that I don't make a lot of boy stuff! I needed a couple of more boy cards and thought that this Riley would fit the bill perfectly. This image is from the Riley Goes to the Circus release and I though he would do a great job cheering up a little boy. Riley was colored with Copics and I used papers from The Paper Studio and the little jeweled swirley is from Joilees. I didn't notice that the picture was slightly blurry until after I had already sealed the box, so sorry about the quality of the photo.

Here is a picture of the cards that was in the box that I sent out this week to Card Cupids

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!!

A Touch of Humor

Ok, anyone that knows me in person knows that I have a slightly odd sense of humor. Ok, I will admit, it usually goes past slightly, but I will be polite about myself. I found that sentiment stamp one one of my shopping trips to Indiana and had to have it. I didn't know what I would do with it or who I would give it to, but I knew I needed. I have some friends that are weird like me so I knew I would be able to use it eventually. I have had this stamp from River City Rubber Works for a while and decided to pair them together. I swear that woman on the right looks just like my Great-Grandmother, purse and all. Combining these just seemed like the right thing to do!

Have a great day!

Samantha has a new post today.

Mo's Weather Related Challenge

The challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog this week is to make a weather related card. I had printed this image the other day and thought it would be perfect, because for me, as soon as the weather changes a little and the first hint of spring is in the air, it is time to start getting my seeds planted and my pots ready. And a lot of the time I feel like I am standing at the door, holding my pots, waiting no so patiently for it to warm up enough to bring them outside. My card uses an image from Mo's Digital Pencil, paper, flower and brads from my stash.

My plants are growing! I have several little tiny tomatoes that are growing. Tomatoes and cucumbers are what I most look forward too every summer. I have been getting a few strawberries too, here and there. I have been fighting the birds for them and I think they are actually getting more of them than I am which I am not so happy about.

Speaking of little girls ready to grow some stuff; here is a picture of Samantha with her tomato plant. Ever since I have known her and she was a tiny little thing, she has loved tomatoes. Since she has taken such an interest in gardening, my dad sent her a tomato plant of her own. This is a tomitoe (sp?) plant. He has had these seeds for many many years, harvesting them and then starting the new ones each spring. Samantha was very happy to have her own plant to take home. Her mom grows some things too, but we tend to grow different things, except this year Samantha wanted her to plant all the same herbs that I have planted.

Have a great day!!

Riley and Sophie Relaxing at Home

Riley and Company is having another challenge. This week the challenge was to feature both Riley and Sophie on your project. I decided to create a little scene with Riley and Sophie relaxing at home. I used Knitting Sophie and Reading Riley for my card. How do you like their living room? Since we have had such a crazy month or so, I thought sitting at home in comfy chairs sounded pretty good to me! Kip had asked me what I wanted to do this past weekend and I just showed him this. He took the hint and we had a very low key weekend, pretty much hanging out around the house. The papers I used are from DCWV, Riley and Sophie are from Riley and Company, the ovals I used to make the rug are Nestabilities. The little sampler I just drew to look like a cross stitch wall hanging.

Have a great Monday!!

Card Cupids June Challenge

It's Friday! I can't believe it is June already. May is always such a busy and crazy month for us and this month in addition to everything else going on we also had a family wedding and funeral. All of which required trips back to my hometown, which is about three hours from where we live now. I hope to spend most of the weekend at my craft table, we have been missing each other! Card Cupids has a new challenge and a new sponsor this month. Bugaboo Stamps is sponsoring this challenge and the challenge was to use ANIMALS! As soon as I saw this turtle, I knew it would be the image I wanted to work with. I LOVE turtles and this one with the flowers on his shell is just too cute. Want a chance to win your own Bugaboo images?? Then join along with our ANIMAL CHALLENGE for a chance to win 7 Bugaboo images!! Not only will you have a chance to win the images, you could also really brighten the day of someone that would love to receive some happy mail.

Card Cupids also has another announcement! Starting this month we will be having two challenges per month! That's an extra chance to play along with us as we try and use our card making skills o being a smile to as many people as possible.

Thanks for visiting today, have a great weekend!
