Inky Active Cards

Both classes I took on Friday were a lot of fun. My favorite was this Inky Active card class, all the cards did something. For me, this was a first, I haven't made any of the cards like this before. Jackie, from Inky Antics was the instructor, and first she demonstrated using coloring pencils and OMS. Her company has the coolest blending stumps I have seen. All I have been able to find around here are the little ones that aren't much thicker or longer than a cotton swab. These were like Sharpies, they were great. Here are some of the cards we made:
I especially liked my coloring on this guy! This one should be mounted onto a card base but I took the picture before I did that and it also has a ribbon pull on the end to make it easier to pull to show the other side.

I think this was my favorite card though. It is hard to see in the picture, but when you pull the ribbon at the top, there is something that comes out from each end of the card. The sentiment backed in green is actually a pocket that will hold cash. The base is also wide enough that if you changed the pocket it would hold a gift card.

All the stamps here are from Inky Antics and colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Not sure of the papers or anything because they were supplied. I bought a few of their stamps at the show and after my wallet recovers, I will be ordering more! Thanks for checking in with me. I am working a lot over the next couple of days so I may not have a lot of crafting time.

StampScrapArtTour, Oh, My!

I had so much fun this weekend! I went to the StampScrapArtTour in Chattanooga at the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. I signed up for two classes on Friday afternoon, DIY Monograms and Inky Active Cards. There was also a Make It Take It and dessert reception on Friday night. Saturday the vendor area was open for shopping. I will be posting a few things each day for the next couple of days to show you what I made. The Monogram class was working with the Just Rite Monogram system. Everyone in the class got a Monogram stamp set to keep. Here is the Stationary set I made:

I won a couple of stamp sets as a door prize. Here is one of them. The other is just a sheet of cling mounted rubber and I couldn't get a clear picture but they are all snow flakes and snow sayings.

I had a great time. It was a small show but the demos and make and takes were very good. I got some pointers on coloring with pencils and OMS, I had learned that technique just by reading about it so it was good to see someone actually doing it and explaining how to get the best results. I met several really nice people, including some that I "knew" from SCS, so I can now put a face with a screen name. Most of the vendors had the option of buying their stamps mounted or unmounted, which I loved. I have several new stamps, some new Twinkling H2O paints, a Marvy punch, the Tim Holtz design ruler and tons of ideas. I will post the Inky Active cards tomorrow! Stay tuned for projects made with my new stamps.
