A Birthday Card for a Friend

Good Morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend--especially if you were off yesterday! I was off but Kip ended up working pretty much a regular day, which is one of the disadvantages of being self employed. In the first week of September I have several friends with birthdays and this is a card I made for one of them. I used a CC Designs image called Geisha Girl, colored with Copics and DP from DCWV's Far East pack of paper. For some reason, every picture that I took made that ribbon look bright red. In person, it is a much darker red and matches so much better.

Have a great day!

Sweet Easter Card

Good evening! First of all, I want to point out that bow--I am very proud of it! Normally, I fight with ribbon trying to make a decent bow and this one turned out perfect (for me) on the very first try! Now onto the rest of the card! I used an image from CC Designs, stamped it with Memento ink and then colored it with Copic markers, and then cut out the image. I used Nestabilities Label 4 to cut out the panels behind the image. I love that ribbon but do not know where it came from, my guess would be that it came from either Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann's since that is where I get the majority of my ribbons. All the papers are from DCWV.

And see, I can still stamp! I have been using digis so much lately that my rubbah has been getting neglected. Not to mention all the images that are already stamped too and just sitting there waiting to be colored. A lot of the time if I am going to a crop or something like that I will stamp a bunch of images and then just take images and my Copics. Otherwise, I try and pack most of my craft room! Have a great night!

Christmas Gifts

Hello! Wow, I can't believe Christmas is approaching so fast! I am almost done with my cards, I think. I have a few more gift items to make and I would like to get a card set together for my Grandmother, but I think I will be done before the holiday actually arrives. My crafty friend Angela and I have decided that we will exchange cards and gifts after Christmas so that is one less thing each of us has to do! Speaking of Angela, these are her stamps that she let me borrow. Both images are from CC Designs. After stamping them and coloring them with Copics, I added a little bit of white fun flock to her hat and some glitter pen to her belt buckle. After everything was colored, I cut them out and added them to my scalloped ovals that were cut out using Nestabilities. The sentiment is from a Studio G set, I have found that there are a lot of great sentiments in some of those sets and they are especially great when you are not wanting your sentiment to be a huge focal point. The paper is from the Making Memories Mistletoe set and the ribbon is from American Crafts. Thanks for dropping by!

Mermaid

Good afternoon! First of all I want to thank everyone for their kind comments on my projects for the S2G Blog Hop. That was so much fun! And for inquiring minds that want to know, Kip is still asking where the cookies are! My card tonight uses a mermaid set from CC Designs. Each piece was stamped, colored with Copic markers and then cut out. I used some Cinnamon Stickles for the sparkle in her hair and some liquid pearl paint for the pearls around her waist and on her headband. I took a piece of watercolor paper and using Twinkling H20 paints, painted my watery background and sandy bottom. Not sure what colors I ended up with here, I mixed several shades of blue to get one that I was happy with. After getting that the way I wanted, I started assembling my scene. The rocks, clown fish and one of the angel fish were added directly to the painted panel, one angel fish was added with a thin piece of foam tape and the mermaid was added with a thicker pop dot. I wish I had thought to take a picture from the side so you could see the dimension a little better. To finish my card, I used some sheer gold ribbon from Hobby Lobby and some brads from my stash. Paper is from DCWV. Thanks to my friend Angela for letting me borrow this stamp! Have a great night!
