After watching Gina K's Stamp TV segment a few days ago, I have been wanting to try this technique. I found both of these papers from Jo-Ann's open stock area, I hate not having a computer in my craft room anymore, I always forget something and tonight is is who made the paper! The image was stamped in Versa-Mark and then covered with clear ultra think embossing powder. I then took some giant sponge daubers and sponged the entire white panel with VersaMagic Mango and Pixie Dust. After that I decided that it needed a little bit of shimmer so I added a little Brilliance Pearl Beige. I used a sponge to wipe the excess ink off my embossed area and that was it. I used a SU ticket corner punch to notch in the corners. Some ribbon from Hobby Lobby and some pearl Dew Drops finished off my card. This is the card that we will be making at church on Friday night. I will try to find some simple sentiments that we can add for everyone to personalize their cards.About the stamp I used: I have mentioned that my Mom is the queen of the yard sale. She found me about 10 sets of Stampin Up sets one day. I am not sure what the names of most of these sets are, I have identified a couple from old catalogs, but not all of them. Some were in the clam shells but some were just in plastic sandwich bags. They stamp the same though, so I was happy with them! Speaking of Mom, she is definitely going to be able to go on the Girl's Weekend with us! She has never been to Nashville, Indiana before so she should have a great time. Before she commited though, she made sure she didn't have to take the Copic class. My sis-in-law will enjoy Papertrix, but the moms are not paper crafters and they will be shopping elsewhere. I am still so very excited and counting the days!
Quickly, this is a picture of one the rhododendrons that is in my front yard. They just started blooming on Sunday. Kip lived in this house for three years before we got married and they never bloomed. The first spring after we got married they erupted in blooms. I tease him about that, that love had to live here first. Ahhh, isn't that sweet? I can be so corny at times. Have a great night.
