Stamp Something Blue and White

I hope you have had a great weekend. I have! I taught two beginner Copic classed at my LSS yesterday and then today I have had plenty of time to play around in my craft room. Any weekend that allows me to have that much free crafting time is a good one. This afternoon, I had time to just play, no classes to prep for, no holiday approaching too fast, just a day playing with my stamps and markers. I like to play along with the challenges on Stamp Something and the challenge this week was to use the colors blue and white. I think I could use other colors on my image as long as the main colors were blue and white. I have been wanting to play with this Shirley's 2 Girls stamp for a while.  Here's a glimpse into how my mind works: I saw a challenge for blue and white which made me thing of gingham, gingham made me think of baby cards but I don't have need of one of those and then this image came to mind. Then I realized I didn't even have any blue and white gingham paper but I found this that was close enough. I stamped the image with Memento ink and then colored it with Copics and the shoes with red glitter glue. The bow was made with ribbon that I had left over from my wedding programs and the paper and card stock is from DCWV. Thanks for visiting, I love reading your comments!

Brown and..challenge

I haven't had a chance to play along with the challenges at Stamp Something in a while. The challenge this week was to use brown and another color. I chose to use brown and green. I started with this fall image from Whiff of Joy and colored it with Copic markers. I sprinkled some Autumn Flower Soft at her feet to add some color and to finish off the image panel, I used a pale yellow CTMH ink sponged around the image. The green background paper is from DCWV, as are both the tan and brown card stocks. I used a Fiskars border punch for my scalloped border. The ribbon was purchased at Target, they don't carry it anymore though. I really liked that ribbon, it is very soft and makes the prettiest bows and you got a lot of it for around $3.00. This stamp is actually my friend Angela's that she was kind enough to share with me. I haven't bought any of these stamps yet and so she let me try some of hers to make sure I liked coloring them. I love having a stamping friend to share with, not only do we sometimes share supplies but we also share ideas, tips and techniques with each other.

Another reason I will be very happy to have my new crafting space is that I will once again have a computer in my crafting space. I have really missed that, it's hard to watch tutorials or follow detailed directions when the computer is upstairs on one side of the house and the craft room is downstairs, on the opposite side of the house. Stamp Something Recipe Challenge

It's been a while since I have participated in a challenge over at Stamp Something, since before the holidays I think.  When I saw the challenge this week I knew I was something I would enjoy. The challenge was to make something to do with a recipe. One of the gifts that I plan to give this year are family cookbooks. I am not sure when I am going to get them all done, but this is the first one. I used Kiss the Cook by Hanna Stamps and colored the image in with a combination of Prisma markers and Copics. I colored in the area behind the main image with a cool blue and decided to try my hand at drawing floor boards and coloring them in as well. I have seen several cards lately with the wooden floors, I think the first blog I saw them on was Candace's blog Rubbah Soul. On these composition books, I ran the ribbon from the bottom of the book up to the top and then left enough ribbon that it goes all the way thorough the length of the page to be used as a bookmark. I used the threading water punch around the image. The stamp above the main image is a See Ds stamp, it was a larger stamp that  trimmed down a little to fit in the area that I had. In person, those blues match a little better. I am still working on Kip's computer and it's a Mac. Until mine died I have never used it before. I am still getting used to the photo editing though and haven't quite got the hang of it. Thanks for stopping by today. Let me know what you think of my recipe book!

Happy Halloween Challenge

Today wraps up my week of Halloween goodies, I hope you have enjoyed looking at them as much as I have enjoyed making them. I love playing with my Halloween stamps. These are the treat holders that I made for my friends and co-workers this year. As soon as I saw these I knew I wanted to use the mini-pizza boxes from Jen Del Muro.

The challenge at Stamp Something this week was to make something for Halloween. That's great for me, I think I have more more Halloween treats this year than I ever have before!

I thought they were so cute and they were easy to make. They make nice little gifts because of the variety of things that you can put in them. I was also thinking that they would make great place cards with a little something for your dinner guests, or as any kind of little party favor. For my Halloween treats I made two different sizes. The one on top is the smaller one and was for my friend that is forgoing chocolate right now, hers was filled with green tea bags. the others were filled with chocolate eye balls and a stamper friend found some stamps in hers. The boxes are made from DCWV black paper. Both of these stamps were from Michael's dollar bin. The witch's hat was stamped with Palette black ink and Jeepers Creepers is stamped with CTMH White Daisy ink. The witch's hatband is colored with Prisma markers. I used all my leftover Halloween papers to make the papered area behind the stamped image. I think all the ones shown in the picture were DCWV. The ribbon is from Michael's too.

Stamp Something For the Birds Challenge

What do you know, more polka dots! Anyway, this is my entry for the challenge this week at Stamp Something. The challenge was Something for the Birds and we were to use a bird image, any size, shape or color. I have no idea what kind of bird this is so I decided to make him a little on the colorful side. He is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The picture makes him look a little on the dark side, but you can still see the brighter colors in his crest. I think that saying is funny. The stamp set is from Inkadinkado, flowers are Marcella by K and the brads are from The Paper Studio. I am not sure of the maker of the green paper, but the navy blue is DCWV.

Is everyone ready for Halloween tomorrow? I am, I have my candy all ready to pass out. This is my third Halloween living in this house and I am so excited that we actually get trick or treaters. This is the first place that I have ever lived that I have gotten more than five! My favorite is when the little boys come up and try to scare me. I hope everyone else has a great time!

Stamp Something Challenge

This is my entry for the Stamp Something Challenge this week. The layout was the challenge this week. I painted the dresses on these girls' dresses with my new Twinkling H20 paints and colored the rest with Prismacolor pencils. The paper is from Making Memories and the ribbon is American Crafts. Stamp Something Challenge- Friendship Card

The challenge this week at Stamp Something was to stamp something for a friend. I made this friendship card to give to a friend at work that hasn't been feeling very well lately. She is always so thoughtful and thinking of everyone else. I am so bad though, I have been meaning to make her something for the past week. When I saw this challenge I decided now was the perfect time. The image was stamped using my friend Elaine's stamp set. It is a SU set, but I can't remember the name of it. I stamped it with Brilliance ink and colored it with Spica markers, if you click to enlarge the photo, you can see how sparkly it is. I was going through my stash of paper and found this from one of the DCWV Stacks. I don't normally used these printed sheets, but for some reason this one jumped out at me. I picked the colors on the dress from the paper. I have used this combination several times in the past couple of days, I am in the middle of another project using purple and green. The flower is also from my stash and I have had it for quite some time. It wasn't in the original packaging so that probably means a friend gave it to me! So this is a card for a friend, using the stamped image from a friend and an embellishment from another friend!

Stamp Something Challenge

This week the challenge at Stamp Something was to stamp something! This week's challenge was issued by Kim from My Favorite Things. This is one of my favorite stamps from MFT. Sadly, this is not one I own. Yet. I love crafting with my friend Angela who is so kind to share with me. I love all of them but this one is at the top of the list. I colored the image with a mix of Prisma markers and Copics. The snow on the ground and on the snowman is some glitter that I got at Hobby Lobby's Make it Christmas area last year. It is so thick and chunky that the only thing I like it from is snow. I covered the ground and the snowman with Glossy Accents and then poured glitter on the ground and then lightly sprinkled the snowman. The snow falling from the sky is Liquid Applique, as are the snowman's arms and his chunks of "coal". All the paper is from DCWV. The snowflake brads are from The Paper Studio. Samantha really enjoys looking at my blog. She is six and thinks it is amazing that she can see things in the craft room and then also see them on the computer. I think she checks out my blog more often than anyone else and it is one of the first things she wants to do when she comes in from school. She spent most of the day with us on Saturday and this is her treasure box that she made. We got the real shells at HL. She mixed about six different colors to paint her water and we also used some die cut fish. Now she will be happy to see her artwork on here!

Birthday Card

I made this card for the challenge this week at Stamp Something. The challenge was to make something for a birthday. I really liked this paper, the color is so pretty. It came from Target and was a gift from my friend Angela. The dots that make up the background image are the palest of yellows so I used that color as my accents. I used three different CTMH sets for the stamped images. Happy Birthday is from Seasonal Celebration, the gifts are from the Solo P set and the cake is from Holiday Jubilee. All are stamped with Palette ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. The yellow eyelets are from Making Memories and the ribbon is from my stash. I have been using more and more supplies from my stash. I am trying to use some of the things I have collects and have been hoarding! I will try and get a picture of my new haircut posted in the next day or two.

Stamp Something Summery Challenge

The challenge this week over at Stamp Something was to stamp something that reminded you of summer. I knew this set would be perfect for me. I love sitting outside in the summer, drinking my morning cup of coffee and looking at my flowers. That is how happy I look with my coffee, however I am never quite that put together in the morning, especially before that vital first cup! Summer to me also means bright, cheery colors and this paper says summer to me! I love pink and orange together. Hanna is colored with Prisma markers. I think the paper is from My Mind's Eye, it was in one of those large packs I got at HL. The ribbon is from Jo-Ann's. The pink and white flower and pink button are from Making Memories. While we were in Indiana, I was in a scrap store shopping with my MIL. She bought a huge pack of flowers and buttons for me. She picked them out and when we got to the register she said they were for me. Papercrafting is not her thing (floral arranging is) but I thought she did a great job picking out the pack she did. Thanks for Being You

I see challenges all the time on SCS and on other people's blogs. Sometimes I play along at home, on my own craft desk, but I have never posted anything. I have been looking at the challenges on Stamp Something for the past couple of weeks. The challenge this week is "Thank You Somethings" and it could be anything related to thanks. I decided to make this one using my new See D's thank you stamp set for the sentiment. It was stamped using CTMH Heavenly Blue. The flowers are from the CTMH Solo R and was colored using Prisma markers. The cardstocks are all from DCWV, ribbon is from American crafts. The color of the flower and the robin's egg match dots in the ribbon. To finish off this card I attached some decorative accents that I got at Michael's. We are headed to Indiana tomorrow. I think I have some cards that are scheduled to automatically post but I haven't ever done that before so I am not sure I did it right! I'll be back on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by today!
