New Baby Girl

Hello! The challenge this week on the Riley and Company challenge blog is "For the Girls". Perfect timing for me since one of my friends just had a baby girl and I needed to make a Congratulations card to send them. I always forget how tiny new little babies are! She is just precious and every one is doing great, Mom and Dad both say she is just so easy going. I used my brand new image Bundle of Joy. I made sure I ordered this stamp on the night of the release to make sure it would be here and I would have plenty of time to make the card and then get it to them soon after the baby arrived. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to make them a card with this image.

Image is from Riley and Company, papers are DCWV, buttons are American Crafts, floss is DMC, and the chipboard heart is from my stash. Copics used: E31, E33, E35, antlers-E37, E29, blanket RV10, Rv11, RV14.

I am really making some progress using things I have on hand and not buying too much new stuff. The chipboard heart on this card has been in my stash forever! I mean, at least six or seven years. For some reason I buy lots of chipboard embellishments, but I seem to rarely use it. So look out, you might be seeing lots of it in the future!

Sweet Baby Boy card

I was invited to a baby shower last week and realized I was out of baby cards! I have been having so much fun making Halloween and Christmas cards that I have let my card box get a little low. Friday night at Craft Night I took a bunch of images to color so that I could have a selection of cards when the need arose. I know a few people expecting babies in the near future and I knew I would be needing several baby cards soon. I have a few more of these stamped, I think next I am going to make one for a little girl. This image is from Sweet Pea Stamps and is from the Lisa Victoria line. As soon as I saw this image I knew it would make great baby cards. That little dragon curled up with his little bear is just the cutest! Image is colored with Copic markers and I used a Sakura glitter pen to accent some on the clouds. The brads and the stars are from Making Memories and those letters have been in my stash for a little while and I can't remember who made them.

My tree is up and decorated, the shopping almost finished, presents are wrapped and under the tree. I try and do a lot of my shopping early so that I can relax as it gets closer to Christmas. I have one more major gift to buy and then a couple of odds and ends, mostly stocking stuffers. One tradition that I brought to our marriage was little wrapped gifts in our stockings. I loved that when I was little, mixed in with the fruit, nuts and candy we always had little small gifts to open. Often it was a pair of earrings. some lip gloss or other trinket and  always looked forward to that. I told Kip that and he always includes small wrapped gifts in my stocking and I make sure he has a couple too. What tradition have you carried over from your childhood?

CAS Little One

I am really enjoying making cards that are more on the clean and simple side. The first one, I really struggled with but the more I play with this style the easier and more enjoyable it becomes. Both the image and the sentiment are from SU. For some reason this bird's nest made me think of baby cards so I used the "Little One" stamp from another set to give it a baby feel. The image was stamped with Memento ink and then colored with Prismacolor pencils. I used Marvy punches for the square and the scalloped square. The ribbon is American Crafts and the sentiment is stamped with CTMH ink. Pretty quick and simple but I really like the look of this card. Thanks for visiting tonight!

Polka Dots and Ribbon Challenge

This is my entry for the first challenge in our SCS Blogger Group. Sara issued the challenge to use polka dots and ribbon. I needed to make a card for a baby shower next week and decided to combine the two. I really liked this challenge because using polka dots is definitely not a hard thing for me to do! Even my cute little horse has spots. The horse stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps and is part of a set called Cuddly Critters. The sentiment stamp is from the Inkadinkadoo baby boy set. Both are stamped using CTMH Lilac Mist ink and all papers are from DCWV. The ribbon is from my stash, not sure of the origin, but it probably came from Hobby Lobby. Speaking of Hobby Lobby, after we went and voted this afternoon, my husband took me there. He was looking for supplies to make a tabletop display for his business, but he let me look at long as I wanted. Their Nestabilities were on sale this week and they finally got some of the long scalloped rectangles in stock! I can't wait to use them.

Welcome Little One

Hi, thanks for stopping by today. I survived yesterday and managed to learn all thirteen songs that I needed. Due to time, a couple of them got cut, including the one that I was the most nervous about. It has been a busy weekend, today we went back to the Viking Store for cooking lessons. My first lesson was a birthday gift from a friend, but I signed Kip and me up for this one. We learned how to make sushi! It was another fun class. We ate so much sushi though, I was so full when we left. It was a great time.

This card was made with the CTMH Flower Child stamp set. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps and reads "welcome little one". I stamped it onto white paper and colored it with Prisma markers. I cut out the images and used dimensionals to attach them to the pink squares. The paper I used is from Making Memories. The squares and the pink strip are the reverse of the patterned paper. The ink is CTMH Orchid Bouquet. This was a pretty simple card to make. Have a great day.

Welcome Little One

Another baby girl gift! I made another set of onesies from the same CTMH set, Whimsical Butterfly and this card to go with it. Everyone is having baby girls! For this card, I stamped the butterflies and the dragonfly onto bright pink cardstock for a background paper. The ink is CTMH Pink Carnation. It is hard to see the details in this picture, but I stamped the butterflies onto the white paper and then stamped another set of them onto a separate piece of paper. I cut out one set of the butterflies, covered them with glue and poured iridescent glitter all over them, then I used SU!Dimensionals to put the cut out butterflies on top of the stamped butterflies. I am not sure of the maker of the ribbon. It was in a giant pack that I got on clearance at Jo-Ann's a while back. Hope to see everyone tomorrow night!
