Ahhh, Coffee

I love the look on Hanna's face here, it just seems like she is so enjoying that cup of coffee! I know I enjoy my first cup that much. Just imagine if I had a Keurig, I bet I would look as happy as she does here!! My card tonight was made using the sketch provided by Sandra for the Hanna Stamps November release. I started with Cafe Hanna, colored her with Copic markers and then used an oval Nestie to cut out the portion that would fit the sketch.  That cute little mug is one of the accessories available in the set; I colored it with Copics and then covered it with Glossy Accents. IRL my colors match a better than they do in the picture, when I edited the picture it looked fine, but now the colors look a little off. The orange panel is much more vibrant but here looks rather washed out. Supplies: Cafe Hanna from Hanna Stamps, flowers from K& CO (I think), Copic markers, glossy accents, oval and circle Nestabilities. Thanks for visiting and have a great night!

Captain Kangaroo Day

The challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum today was to make a card to celebrate an obscure October Holiday. I googled a list of October holidays and saw that Captain Kangaroo day was on October 3rd. No doubt about it, that was going to be my holiday, I didn't even read the rest of the list. I was a huge fan of the Captain Kangaroo show, I had a serious crush on Mr. Green Jeans, couldn't wait to see the little family that lived behind the books on the bookshelf, and sang along with the "Now you know my name is Simon, and the things I draw come true...". So yes, my card had to honor the greatest show my childhood. I started with School Riley and colored him with Copics, added some Glossy Accents to the glasses and cut out only the top part of Riley. Since Mr. Moose was a puppet, he was always behind a shelf so I tucked him behind the brown paper along with his friend Bunny Rabbit. If you aren't familiar with the show, Mr. Moose was always trying to trick the Captain into saying something that would cause ping pong balls to rain down, often involving a knock-knock joke and Bunny Rabbit was always trying to get carrots. I punched out a bunch of "ping pong balls" with a regular hole punch, some are glued directly onto the paper and others were added with pop dots. The papers are DCWV, ribbon is American Crafts, the button is Making Memories and I used some green DMC embroidery floss.

Not quite sure who will end up getting this card! I think I will give it to my Mom because during my days of loving Mr. Green jeans, she bought me a pair of green jeans and had to wash them a lot because I wanted to wear them every day. Wonder if she will remember all that, based on this card?

I think this is one of those times that my being a couple of years older than Kip really comes out. He didn't remember all these characters! Not only did he get a very detailed description, but I also managed to find some clips on You Tube and made him watch them. It's a good thing he loves me so much, because sometimes he thinks I am a little weird, I mean unique! If you remember Captain Kangaroo, leave me a comment letting me know what your favorite character or segment was.

Halloween Poppers

The challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS is Trick or Treat, I made these Halloween Poppers that can be filled with treats. My image is Vampire Riley from from Hanna Stamps. I made them basically the same way you would make Christmas Poppers, but I cut them a little smaller. One of the reasons I did this is because I thought that a bunch of these on a platter would look like those peanut butter candies that are wrapped in the orange and black papers. My image was colored with Copic markers and then punched out with a Marvy scalloped oval. Due to the size of the popper, I didn't have enough room to add a backing piece of paper so I took a marker in the color that I wanted to use and then used the brush tip to go into the grooves of the scallops. The ribbon is from Wal-Mart.

To make these, I used a cardboard tube (paper towel or toilet paper roll) and I cut my tubes into 2 1/2 pieces. I measured out my papers to the length that would completely cover the tube and slightly overlap. For the width, I  measured 3 inches past the ends and cut there. As a general rule, I just kind of eyeball this step. If I am using longer tubes, such as a full size toilet paper tube, I will make the ends about half the length of the tube. You will need to add about 1/2 inch to what you have decided to make those sides, that much will be used when you bring in the sides to tie your bow. This does not work very well with card stock unless it is very thin, DP works better. I had bought some cheap card stock for this project and it is very thin and easy to work with. After adhering the covering, I gathered up one side and tied my ribbon. This is the point that you will fill your popper. After you have added your goodies and tie the other side closed. Then decorate them if you want and you are done. If my directions don't make sense or if you have any questions, feel free to email me and I will try to explain it a little better!

Color Challenge

I made this card for the October release challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS. The challenge was to use the colors rust, olive and teal on a card. Now, the rust and olive were easy, adding teal was not! I so rarely work with that color that I was surprised to even find a piece of teal card stock in my paper stash. I started with the Farmers stamp from Hanna Stamps, stamped it with Memento and colored it with Copics and Prisma markers. The ovals were cut out with scalloped oval Nestabilities, the papers are from DCWV and the ribbon is from my stash. Well, I am off to grab a healthy snack and then to play along with the Hanna Stamps release party!

Watercolor Challenge

And what a challenge this was for me! The challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum was to use watercolors. Normally if I am using watercolor paints it is to create a background of some sort. I rarely (only once I think!) them to actually paint and image. I bought some Peerless watercolors a while back and have only used them a time or two so it was time to pull them back out again. Have you seen these before? The color pigment is on sheets of paper, you simply trim off a small snip and then add them to water. It reminds me a little of those painting its I would get when I was a little girl, it would be a picture and then three or four strips of paper that had the paint on them. Anyone else remember those? The colors are much more vibrant with the Peerless watercolors though and you actually have enough to use over and over again. Back to the card; I stamped Riley onto watercolor paper using Memento ink and then painted him with my watercolors. I was able to get some shading on the water, but never did with the Riley image. Oh well, I guess I need more practice with this medium. I am happy with the way it turned out though. I raided the girls' beading supplies to find this white beading cord and tried to tie a cool nautical knot with it. You should have seen me sitting at my craft desk with my iPhone in one hand looking up sailor knots and the cord in the other trying to tie the knots. My name is Gina and I am a nerd!  The paper is DCWV, the star brads are from Color Bok and I used my square Nestabilities to punch out my image and the frame behind it. Have a great evening!

I love my computer

I loved this set from Hanna Stamps last release party. I spend just a little too much time on the computer and get just a little teasing about it. I used a computer generated sentiment. I heard this somewhere a long time ago and it stuck with me. Actually it makes me laugh! Here is the rest of the sentiment on the decorated inside of my card:
There was a challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum; it was to use this stamp set and to also use the colors pink, gray and black. I really like those colors too, that combo is on the short list for the color scheme when we redecorate downstairs. I wanted something fuzzy or furry for the rug below the desk. I couldn't think of anything until I saw some felt flowers on my desk and remembered that I had some felt squares that the girls and I had used for some project or another. I was very happy to see that there was some pink left! I stamped Hanna with Memento ink and then colored everything with Copic markers and then cut her out. The rug was also stamped using Memento ink directly onto the felt. It worked and it didn't smear, but isn't very dark. I drew in the wood floor and colored it with Copics too, added my section of "wallpaper" and then added in a white strip for my baseboard. The ribbon was just tied in the middle and then I spread them out a little so that you can see both colors. I used Fiskars Scallop punch on the border and then decided I wanted some more black so I added the black brads.

School starts back here tomorrow so my schedule changes too. I am not sure how it is going to work out yet, but hopefully I will still have time to craft and post on here every day. I have decided my personality is a lot better if I have some daily creative time!

Ready for a Swim?

Good afternoon! I made this card for one of the challenges in the Hanna Stamps forum. It was a sketch challenge provided to us by Sandra. I thought this sketch was so cute! I know it is on that I will use again. You know how much I love Riley and this was the perfect sketch to use. I love this color combo too, it just says summer to me and is perfect for little boys. I use these colors a lot when I am making things for my nephew Silas. When he was born, I helped my sister start a scrapbook for him and the book used these colors. So I always think of him when I use this combo. I started by stamping Fins Riley with Memento ink and then colored him with Copic markers. The paper is from a Making Memories pack with all these great coordinating patterns and the brads are from The Paper Studio. That's it for today! i am going to try and sneak in a quick nap before I have to leave again.

Wishing for Sunny Days

Thank you so much for all the tips for the acetate sheet, I couldn't wait to try another card. I embossed my acetate again with a Cuttlebug folder, this time it is attached behind my image and then the brads are also helping hold it to the blue paper. I stamped my Rainy Day Hanna with Memento ink and then colored everything with Copic markers. I am not sure of the maker of the ribbon, since it is from my stash, but I believe it is from one of the DCWV accessory packs from last spring. Everything on this card came from my stash and those were the last three brads from that pack! I am making progress with my self challenge, I have finished off a couple of packages and the scrap pile is getting smaller. The only thing I need to work a little more on is to make some cards with the images that have already been colored. Enjoy your evening and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas in July

It has been a great day off! I slept in, no waking up to an alarm clock for me today and then got up and headed straight to my craft room. well first I jumped online to check out the challenges on SCS. The challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum today is Christmas in July. Perfect for me since I am planned a craft day with the same theme on the 18th and I pulled out some Christmas paper and embellishments last night and they were sitting there on the desk ready to go. The challenge also fit in with my self challenge to use only supplies that I have on hand. I was able to find several good deals on Christmas stuff last year so they were put away and have been waiting to be used. To make this card, I started by using the tree from the Tis the Season Hanna set to create my tree farm, masking some of the trees to make it look like rows of trees. I colored these trees with Prismacolor pencils. To make the snow on the ground, I added some Martha Stewart Glitter. I stamped Riley onto a separate piece of paper and colored him and his tree with Copic and Prisma markers. After cutting him out, I added some foam squares to the back and was going to add him to the scene, but decided I wanted to have more distance between Riley and the rows of trees so I added a second layer of foam squares. See Riley's pink cheeks? It must really be cold! I hardly ever add clothes to any of these stamps, it just looks kinda weird when I do so I leave him au natural. Stamps by Hanna Stamps, glitter from Martha Stewart, paper from the Paper Studio, sentiment from Studio G, and the snowflake is from the stash.

Speaking of Christmas in July, if you live nearby or are my real life friend, plan on joining us on July 18th for our monthly craft event at church. Normally we meet the first Friday night each month, but because of the holiday, we changed the date. We will be celebrating Christmas in July and will have some quick and simple gift ideas and Christmas cards on display. Hope you can join us! I normally start making cards in July so I may try and post these on Fridays, since that it a day that I don't always post.

We are headed out in a couple of hours to meet my in-laws. We will be grilling out tonight and heading out on the boat to watch fireworks at Nashville Shores. I am so not a boat person though. Have a great day if your are celebrating and be careful!

Chocolate Therapy

Chocolate does solve everything, doesn't it? To me, it looks like Riley had a rough day and it making everything feel better with a box of chocolates. This sketch is from the challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS last week. I decided to use Sofa Riley and create a little living room for him to hang out in, eating his yummy chocolate. I started by making a wall by picking out my "wallpaper" and added that to a piece of white paper that was about an inch of white space left at the bottom and then drew and colored my hardwood floor. Riley was colored with Copic and Prisma markers and then cut out. He is attached with foam dots. I stamped and extra and only colored the candy box and lid, cut them out and used some thin foam dots to attach them. The sentiment is handwritten and punched out with the SU Word Window punch. I added some ribbon and flowers and called it done! I am happy to say that all items came from my stash, and I am getting an early start on my self challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Stars and Stripes Hanna

Hello! The week is half way over and I am starting to get excited about my trip this weekend! I can't wait to head out on Friday. I will be traveling back to Indiana and Papertrix to attend Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced classes in Coloring Pencil techniques. It is funny, when I travel, I end up throwing clothes in a duffle bag right before going out the door, but for this class and the Copic class I took last month, I had my craft bag packed a week a head of time! Karen Lockhart is teaching the classes and I have been checking out her website and am excited to learn some of her techniques. Hopefully, I will come back with tons of ideas to show you.

I made this card for the challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum which was to use stars and stripes on your card. I started with this image from the Patriotic Mini set and the stars from a CTMH mini set. I stamped the stars using CTMH Indian Corn Blue, Cranberry and Moonstruck inks and then cut out each one. I added them to my card using foam dots of two different thicknesses, some are on very thin dots and are just slightly above the paper and some stand out a little more. I wanted the flag to stand out too so after coloring the image, I cut it out and glued Hanna flat to the white panel but used another thin foam dot under just the flag. Stamp is Hanna Stamps, paper is DCWV, image is colored with Copic markers, ribbon is Offray, image is colored with Copic and Prisma markers.

Riley bookmarks and Reading Log

Hello and Happy Friday! The other night when I when I was at their house for a cookout, Jenna asked me if I would make her a bookmark. This is a little unusual because that is normally a project that she enjoys doing herself.  Almost every time that they request something they also request that a Riley stamp to be used. Samantha calls this little guy Reading Riley although the name is actually School Riley. I decided to combine to bookmark with a reading log. I started with a sheet of paper from the DCWV Pocket of Posies mat stack ( I think the papers are 4 x 6) and simply scored it down the middle to create a little pocket. I used a scalloped Marvy punch to create a cut out spot then added the adhesive to keep the pocket closed. Riley was then stamped and colored with Copic/Prisma markers and then punched out with the pink Marvy punch and I chose a coordinating color to punch out two scalloped circles the same size as my cut out portion on the pocket. To make the reading log, I used this library card stamp from SU's Stamp of Authenticity set. I measured a matching piece of card stock so that it was the length I wanted and adhered the largest circles onto the top and the card onto the bottom. When you slide it into the pocket, the scallops match up with the open part at the top. Of course I had to make one for Samantha and the friend that stays with them during the day while their moms work. Each girl's bookmark uses their favorite colors. They were very happy with them when I dropped them off this afternoon. Being little girls, I knew they would love some sparkle, but since it needs to lay flat in a book, I added some glitter dots around my main scalloped circle. I used some Glossy Accents on Riley's glasses.
You still have one more day to enter to Hanna Stamps Guest Design Team call, details can be found here. Thanks for stopping by! My project uses: stamp by Hanna Stamps, paper from DCWV, Copic and Prisma markers, scalloped circle punches from Marvy, glitter pen from Sakura and Glossy Accents by Ranger.

I Love My Garden Guest DT Entry

Good afternoon! This is another card that I made for the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Call (you can find all details here). I think this is a card that I will be keeping to hang in my crafting space. I love red and yellow, especially together and I love all the flowers in this card. I have been hoarding this paper from K&Co. for some time and decided to use it for this project. The paper helped me pick the colors for the rest of the project. I started with the I Love My Garden Hanna set and stamped the Hanna image and the flower pot and colored them with Copic markers.  Both were then cut out. Then I colored in my sky and grass, also with Copic markers and then stamped the lattice thingy with white ink and embossed it with white powder. I also stamped it onto a spare piece of paper so that I could use the flowers, which were also colored and cut out. After all the sky and grass were colored, I added all the pieces and the field of flowers. Stamp is from Hanna Stamps, paper is K& Co, card stock is DCWV, buttons are Making Memories and thread is DMC.

About the flowers: I have been trying to teach myself some quilling basics. So far, these fringed flowers are my favorite thing. I love the way they look and I think I have mastered the technique. This is the first time that I have tried making them with more than one color and I think the are he perfect complement to go with this stamp set and the paper. They aren't terrible difficult to make, but they are a little time consuming. You have to take the strip of paper and make all these little cuts into it before rolling it. If your aren't careful, it is easy to cut straight through the strip or to rip it when it is being rolled. I won't admit to how many were ripped before I came up with these seven flowers! Someone left my a comment on the other flowers I made and asked if I was fringing them by hand or using a machine. There's a machine that does this?

I am thinking of getting an air brush system. Does anyone have one to go with their Copics? Any hints or information that would help me make a decision? I can't believe I am even asking that. I remember when Angela got her Prisma markers, I said, "Oh. I would never pay that much for markers". Then she let me try them. The first thing I colored was Riley with the little chicks. I was in love with both before I was half way done with the image. Then I got the Prisma markers too, because they were cheaper. Then I needed some skin colors and that led to getting Copics. Now I am looking at air brush systems!

Motorcycle Riley Guest DT Entry

This is another card I made for the Hanna Stamps Guest Designer call. All the details are here if you want to play along. First, I started by stamping Riley with Memento ink and coloring him and the motorcycle with Copic markers. Then I used Nestabilities to punch out my image and the black frame. I purposely punched it so that Riley is a little off center so that it looks like he is racing out of the frame! I wanted another touch of color and knew if I added another layer of card stock that it would cover part of my background so I inked the edges f the image panel with CTMH Orange ink. What do you think of that background? I first saw my friend Julie use aluminum foil to emboss with a couple of weeks ago and had to try it for myself. Here I used the Skulls embossing folder from Cuttlebug. the sentiment is from a Clear Dollar Stamps Tool set. Paper is from DCWV, brads are from Jo-Ann's and the foil is from my kitchen.

I am excited! When I was in Indiana last month, I found out that there was going to be another class this month that I really wanted to attend. I have been going back and forth trying to decided if I was going or not. I really wanted to go but didn't know how excited Kip would be about me going out of town without him again and so soon. I mean, he understood the Girl's Weekend trip to celebrate my 40th birthday, but I thought it would be a little harder to convince him that I needed to take another road trip to celebrate the six week anniversary of my 40th birthday! I am fortunate to have a very supportive and encouraging husband that understands my crafting addiction. On June 27th, I will be making another almost five hour road trip to Indiana to my favorite stamp store in the entire world, Papertrix. Honestly, I am like a six year old at Disney World in that place! The class is being taught by Karen Lockhart and will cover coloring pencil techniques. It is actually a Beginner class, and Intermediate class and an Advanced class all in one day. The class lasts all day and will cover techniques at each level. Some of them I have never even hear of before! Have a great night!

Hanna Stamps Guest Designer Call

Hanna Stamps is having a Guest Designer call and I decided to throw my hat into the ring. If you are interested, you can read about it here. I really do love these stamps, you know how often you see Riley on my blog! I have enjoyed making cards with the Hanna sets that I have too, the images are fun to color and with all the accessories, you can change things up and make things look different even though you are using the same set. But lately, I have been having soooo much fun combining different sets to create different scenes. It's fun to see how many different ways you can use these stamps and accessories and get so many cool scenes.

This is the card that I made for the guest design team call. I combined the Granny Hanny, I Dream of Hanna and To the Beach sets. I made the beach scene by drawing in my sand line, then the water, then colored the rest to be sky. The water has some Liquid Applique on it to mimic waves. The genie is colored with copics. I wasn't quite sure what to do to create the shear look over her legs until I decided to lightly go over her legs with some pink Twinkling H20 paints. Since you can see through those paints, you can still see Hanna's legs, but there is also the appearance of shear material. I outlined the pant legs with Copics to match the rest of the outfit and then added the paints. The lamp was stamped, painted and cut out, but I needed to be sturdy enough to hold this panel closed so I glued it to a thin piece of chipboard and then cut it out again. Are you wondering what Granny's wish was?
When you open the panel you can see that Granny's wish came true! He is none other than the body builder from the To the Beach set.
It took me a while to come up with a layout that covered him and had the continuity of the scene on the genie panel and the body builder panel. I wanted to make sure that my sand, water and sky matched whether the card was opened or closed. I tried a couple of different layouts but this worked best. To do this I cut my card base at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches, and scored on the long side at 3 inches to make the panel. Since Copics bleed through, I cut another 5 1/2 x 3 inch panel to stamp the genie on.

I think I have started to figure out how to take decent pictures with my camera. I can tell a difference anyway. Thanks for stopping by!

Gardening Riley & Blogaversary!!

Okay, I know I have been showing you lots of Riley cards lately! Since taking the Copic class, I have been practicing coloring a lot and these images are just lots of fun to color and play with. It also helps that coloring Riley was one of the projects that we did in class, so I can kind of gauge my progress. And I am seeing some progress, for one thing it doesn't take me as long to actually finish an image. This card was for a challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS. It was a color challenge with a twist. The colors given were apricot and ballet blue and the twist was to add an additional color of your choice. I chose this rusty red color. I don't have any SU colors, so I picked the closest colors I had on hand based on the sample card. Stamp is from Hanna Stamps, image was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Copic markers, paper is DCWV and ovals were cut out with Nestabilities.

One year ago today, I made the first post on my blog! I can't believe how much fun I have had in the past year. I have "met" so many people, some of whom, I have even gotten to meet in person. One of the reasons I decided to start a blog was to encourage myself to craft on a more regular basis. I definitely have! I just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone that drops by to visit and leaves me such encouraging comments. I am working on putting together some blog candy, so check back in the next few days! Thanks again!

Super Moose

I actually combined two challenges to make this card. I admire people that can combine multiple challenges, but when I do I usually forget at least one element (or two!) that was a part of one of the challenges. I thought I would be safe combining a color challenge and a sketch challenge. Jennifer from the Designing D.I.V.A.S. group issued the challenge to use the colors Red, White and Blue on a project. The challenge in the Hanna Stamps forum on Splitcoast was to use this sketch. I was in a coloring mood today and wanting to practice some of the things that I learned in my recent Copic class so I stamped several Rileys and colored them. My card tonight uses Super Moose from Hanna Stamps, paper from the Paper Studio, a button that I got from Target's Dollar Spot last year and some ribbon that came from Hobby Lobby. I love that lock of hair falling down onto Riley's forehead, it reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Superman.

It has been absolutely beautiful here this weekend.  The past few weeks have been so busy that this weekend of doing very little has been a very welcome change. Kip and I have gotten to spend some time together and I was even able to cook a couple of different meals that we ate together! Four more days of school then my schedule will slow down somewhat. That means more crafting time for me. Thanks for dropping by!

Car Trip Riley

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having a great start to their weekend. It is raining and storming here, again. The sun came out for about 20 minutes today and it was so nice and warm, but the rain is back. I spent a large chunk of time today sitting at the DMV trying to renew my license. That is always so much fun and to make it even more fun, the camera was not working correctly which made everything that much slower. It also made for some interesting entertainment listening to people complain. I never go anywhere without a book, my phone, paper and pen, and usually my DS, I can entertain myself for hours if I have to.

The challenge today in the Hanna Stamps forum on SCS is to make a one layer card, using on the base layer. You could add any number of embellishments but you had to keep it to this one layer. I normally color Rileys with Copics and Prisma markers but since they bleed through, I used Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I have had that chipboard sentiment forever and no longer remember where it came from. I tried to create a road scene, drawing in the road, grass, patch of wildflowers and using the chipboard as a billboard.

As I was looking through my stamps for an image to use for the challenge, I decided to make this card and leave it for Kip as I leave to go on my trip in the morning. He is being such a good sport about me leaving him for the weekend and not celebrating my birthday with him. Here's a conversation we had earlier in the week:
Kip: "You know you haven't dropped any hints about what you want for your birthday this year"
Me: " I really just want money for my trip so I can buy stamps when I get to Papertrix"
Kip: "So let me see if I understand; you want to go away from me to celebrate your birthday and as a gift you want money so that you can go away from me and celebrate your birthday. Does that about sum it up?"
Me: "Well, yeah, but that makes it sound not nice"

All in all, he does a pretty good of picking out gifts for me, he;s never bought me a chain saw or a mop or anything like that and he does put thought into his gifts. Last Christmas he bought me a food processor and got some teasing from his mom and sister. But it was something that I had been wanting for a long time and just wouldn't buy myself. He doesn't have an easy out either, I am not a jewelry person and it's hard for him to keep up with the craft stuff I have so he does have to pay attention. He started making my cards after we had been married for a few months. Here is the card he made me this year:
I am off early in the morning. I will try and post some pictures here. I am not sure if the will have descriptions, but I will try to remember how to do that from my phone. Have a great weekend!

Dum dum da dum...

How is everyone today? I have about decided that my next craft endeavor is to make an ark. It has rained here every day for over a week. That really does a number on my back and my pain levels and makes it hard to get decent pictures! I have really been having fun playing along with several challenges lately and since I have more Hanna Stamps than most companies, those are the ones that I have been participating in the most. The challenge from the release party was "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue". I thought I was also supposed to use one of the wedding sets but when I reread the challenge, I don't think that was the case, but since my card was finished this is what I have!  My old item was the heart brads that have been in my stash forever, new item is the stamp set, borrowed is the glitter glue borrowed from the girls and blue is the paper and the glitter glue. Everything was colored with Copic markers. I don't know anyone getting married right now, but when I was in Hobby Lobby the other day, I was helping this woman pick out stuff for her wedding and these were the colors she was using. I thought of her when I was trying to come up with a color to go with the blue. Thanks for dropping by for a visit!!

Get Off My Lawn!!

Okay, now that the title has your attention, I will show you my card! The new set challenge from Hanna Stamps this month was to use the Granny Hanna set, including the stamp that said "get off my lawn". I had to do a lot of thinking for this challenge. Finally, I decided to pair Granny with the Rocker Hanna. When we were little we had a neighbor that reminded me of this scene. She would get so upset if any of the kids even spoke when we walked past her house. She certainly would not have appreciated a free concert from my sister and I! The sky and the grass were sponged with CTMH inks and then I drew blades of grass with a Copic marker.  Granny's dress was paper pieced with some paper that I had in my stash.

Here are some pictures of my mom's ornaments that she has been making. I definitely get my love of crafts from her. She doesn't do any paper crafts, but she has always done some type of craft or another. These ornaments are replicas of antique beaded ornaments. The center is a dense foam ball and the designs and colors are made with a variety of sequins, ribbon, beads and straight pins.
This is one of my favorites, but I forgot to rotate the picture before I loaded it!
This blue one is another of my favorites, I love the depth of this one.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
