Wedding Photo

Aww, isn't that sweet? Instyle Stamps is having Wedding week all this week and there is a photo contest. To enter you have to link a wedding photo and so I am going to share my favorite photo from our wedding. We got married the week before Christmas so instead of my little flower girls tossing flower petals, they had baskets of snow. Thanks for looking!

One Image, Two cards

Hello! On Saturday, Shirley's 2 Girls hosted Digi Day on SNR.  Everyone was given this cute little bunny digi to work with. I love little bunnies so I ended up coloring several to send to my nieces  and nephews for Easter.  Both images were colored with Copic markers. The first one uses Kioshi paper from Basic Grey and some pearl Dew Drops. I used a Fiskars Threading Water border punch on the green piece of paper and then inked around my image panel with CTMH Hydrangea ink.

When I was a little girl, my younger sister would often eat her candy very quickly and then help herself to mine...without asking. She nibbled on my chocolate bunny ears more than once. I swear that girl could sniff out chocolate no matter where it was hidden!  So now that we are adults I send her or her son a card every year that references bunnies with missing ears. If you want you can check out last years card here. To make her card this year, I printed off the same image as above but after coloring it, I cut out the entire image and then used my scissors to make it look like someone had taken a big bite out of his ear. My papers here are DCWV, the eyelets are from my stash and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
I have had several people asking for the directions for my seed packet holder. I don't have a printed template, it is just the measurements. I will post those this weekend and I will try to take pictures as I do,  sort of like a mini tutorial.

Riley Challenge--Seed Packet

Good evening! How is your weekend so far? Other than the fact that I have spent most of the day cleaning house, mine is going okay. I have also had some coloring time, so I can't complain. The challenge this week on the Riley and Company blog was to make anything but a card. Since spring is hopefully on its way, I thought it would be cute to make something that could hold packs of seeds that I could give to a couple of friends. My little box holds 3-4 packs of seeds. I simply measured my seed packet and made my template from there. If you want the directions if you will leave me a comment or send me an email I will send them to you. I used Gardening Riley, which I really think is my favorite Riley image for some reason. Even though I love all these little images, I think this is the one that has seen the most ink. Riley was stamped onto Neenah Solar Crest paper and then colored with Copic markers.  After completing my box, I added the panel of floral paper and then my image.

Last weekend when I was in Memphis, I found some of the Neenah Solar Crest paper and bought a few packs. I think I love it! I have colored several images and so far I really do like it. I am still trying to decide which is my favorite. I used Georgia Pacific for a long time, and was happy with it. But the quality seems to vary from pack to pack. I do wish I could find an affordable alternative that I could just run out and buy instead of waiting on the mail. Thanks for stopping by!

Join us tonight for Shirley's 2 Girls Digi Day on SNR. Lots of fun and a free digi image to play with!

So here is what your FREE DIGI looks like and below is some eye Candy to get you going.

Isn't that cat just the cutest? I printed him and then colored him with Copic markers. Remember, I have only see Alice in Wonderland (any version) only once but for some reason I think of everything being a little off kilter. I wasn't completely sure of the original colors of the Cheshire Cat so I used my Cheshire Cat hat that I got from Disneyland for my inspiration. So I made my stripes to reflect that! I randomly cut pieces of black card stock and then placed them onto the pink paper so that they would not be straight up and down. To finish the card, I added the pink and white buttons, you know I love polka dots!

Don't forget to go to the S2G Challenge Blog and get your free digi, and then link your project so we can take a look at it. Also you will want to check out the rest of the DT to see what they created.

Designing DIVAS Challenge

It was my turn to host the March challenge for the Designing DIVAS blog group. Since March 2nd was the birthday of Dr. Seuss and Read Across America Day, I decided to make the challenge reading related. We could make anything inspired by a book, something featuring a book or reading image or make a bookmark. This challenge was great for me too since I am such a avid reader. I will probably do another project too, I need a bookmark. I make them all the time and give them away and then I end up using scraps of paper to mark my place! My card uses this adorable Magnolia image. I colored both the image and the quilt with Copic markers and then cut them out. While I was in Memphis this weekend I bought this Basic Grey pack of paper called Kioshi. The flower came from my LSS and I can't remember who made it.  Thanks for stopping by and visiting and if you want some more inspiration, check out the DIVA group on my sidebar.

Day 7 S2G Release--Queen of Hearts

Thanks for stopping by! Today is the last day of Sneak Peeks for the new Alice inspired releases from Shirley's 2 Girls.  I can't wait to get some more of these images for myself, they are so much fun to play with. Today's image is the Queen of Hearts. Debbie and Deanne have your samples today.
Have you seen the movie yet? I haven't, but if you have I would love to know what you think about it. I will probably go and see it eventually, after the crowds die down a little bit.

Don't forget you still have time to play along with Twisted Thursday where the twist is to add GREEN!

I scrapped!

Scrapping is something that I rarely do any more. And I admire all you people are organized enough to go to a crop and actually accomplish something. I am generally not that person. But while I was in Memphis this weekend I was going to meet some friends at Archivers for a crop. Normally if I go to a crop, I take my Copics and some stamped images and color. I decided to take some the pictures from the Star Wars concert we went to for our anniversary and some pictures that I plan to make a family cookbook with. I took some papers to work with and planned to get a few pages done.

My first stop in Memphis was Eclectica. What a store! If you ever in the area, you have to stop by there. If you live within driving distance, it is worth the drive. They had a great selection of both stamping and scrapbooking items. One of the first things that went in my cart was this Star Wars mini album kit. I was very happy to have found it since I brought Star Wars pictures with me. I had seen the 12 x 12 papers and some rub-ons before but never this kit. It was great too because since I was planning to make a mini book anyway, the designs on the papers were scaled for a mini book.
Here's the picture of the orchestra and the narrator.
Here is Kip with one of the backdrops and R2D2.
And this is Kip with a Storm Trooper.

This is the final page. There were a few other pages in there too, but I didn't want to bore you with all of them!
I did manage the complete the entire thing during the crop. It's not elaborate, I don't normally scrap that way, but since it was going to be for Kip, I kept it simple. I put it back in the box and told him I got him a surprise and he thought it was just a kit. He really liked it though!

I had a great week and now I am off to visit some blogs!

Mad Hatter Release!

Welcome to another day of the Shirley's 2 Girls Alice inspired release. Today's release is none other than the Mad Hatter himself!
You will find today's samples on Lisa's blog and Cat's blog. and remember you still have time to play along with the Twisted Thursday challenge this week. The twist is to use the color GREEN on your project. Simply create your project and then link it to Mr. Linky and you have a chance to win your own digi!

I got home from Memphis late last night and didn't have time to post about my trip. I went to a crop and actually finished and entire mini scrapbook. I have never done that before! When i get home from work, I will take some pictures and do another post. Have a great day!
