Get Off My Lawn!!

Okay, now that the title has your attention, I will show you my card! The new set challenge from Hanna Stamps this month was to use the Granny Hanna set, including the stamp that said "get off my lawn". I had to do a lot of thinking for this challenge. Finally, I decided to pair Granny with the Rocker Hanna. When we were little we had a neighbor that reminded me of this scene. She would get so upset if any of the kids even spoke when we walked past her house. She certainly would not have appreciated a free concert from my sister and I! The sky and the grass were sponged with CTMH inks and then I drew blades of grass with a Copic marker.  Granny's dress was paper pieced with some paper that I had in my stash.

Here are some pictures of my mom's ornaments that she has been making. I definitely get my love of crafts from her. She doesn't do any paper crafts, but she has always done some type of craft or another. These ornaments are replicas of antique beaded ornaments. The center is a dense foam ball and the designs and colors are made with a variety of sequins, ribbon, beads and straight pins.
This is one of my favorites, but I forgot to rotate the picture before I loaded it!
This blue one is another of my favorites, I love the depth of this one.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

First off, that card is so funny! I love it!

Second, we have the same Mom! LOL I have ornaments like this from the 70's...made in a gold-yellow color with ribbon that is about on the final thread. My Mom also did a lot of work with felt. What a cool keepsake!

Oh, I love your card! My mom is crafty but papercrafting is not her strong area. My mother has tried all kinds of things and I think of her when I smell eucalyptus--from her wreath making/flower arranging days.

The card is funny. I think growing up we all had neighbours that didn't like "noise".

Thank you for posting your mom's ornaments. They are so beautiful and look like a lot of work.

What a fun combo of images for your card.

Your mom makes fab ornaments. I don't think I would have the patience to do something that intricate.

Hey Gina, I made lots of ornaments similar to this in the late 70's with my mom. They still look great! She shared them with me when I left home.

Me again,
I just noticed your reading list on your sidebar - what a fun idea, I might do this! I have been reading quite a bit lately. I just finished "A thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini. Though somewhat graphic at times (set in Afghanistan), it was excellent - provided persepective and I couldn't put it down. It won out over papercrafting - and that means it was Really good! He also wrote "The Kite Runner" which I plan to look for after I finish the one on the go right now.
