Granddad Birthday

This is the card I made for my Granddad's birthday next week. I just love all the Riley images. I used paper from DCWV mat stack. These are great to work with when I am in a hurry, the colors are already coordinated for me and due to the size there is less trimming to do. I ran the brown cardstock through my Big Kick with the CB Tiny Mosaic embossing folder and then used sandpaper across the surface a few times to distress it just a little. I colored Riley with Prisma Color pencils and OMS. The mug is covered with Glossy Accents. You can't really tell but the cupcake is covered with "sprinkles", actually they are purple and blue micro glass beads that I got from Michael's. The "cherry" on top is a larger plastic bead that I got last week at HL in the Christmas area. I think that is what got me in the mood to start my Christmas cards in July. The birthday stamp is from CTMH's Express Postage set. The 14th is actually Papaw's birthday. Those were some tiny numbers to work with though. I stamped it with CTMH Cocoa ink. The stamp that makes it looked canceled out is stamped with the same ink but I stamped off onto scrap paper before stamping over the birthday stamp.
Speaking of Christmas in July, I felt like that today. My The Angel Company demo kit arrived in the mail today!! It was like Christmas going through all those new stamps and paper packs. I can't wait to get ink on them. Keep checking back and I will have some cards made with them in the next day or so. Thanks to everyone that leaves comments, I love reading them!!
