I cannot remember where I saw the idea that I CASED this card from. I do remember that it was a magazine that I ended up not buying though. I had been playing with ideas to make sand, I stamped several different pieces of paper with lots of colors of browns and every technique that I could think of and I was happy with none of them. I even tried real sand mixed with Glossy Accents. That ended up looking like a blob which was not the look I was going for. Then one day we were at Books A Million and I was glancing through magazines and saw the idea for using sandpaper. Brilliant! I decided to use my Cuttlebug swirly embossing folder because it looks a little like water. This DCWV cardstock has a white core so I gently brushed over the raised image with sandpaper to expose a little more of the white. I then used a Palette glue pad over the water area and attached white glitter. The stamps come from three different stamp sets: the umbrella is from a Hanna Stamps set and colored with Prisma Markers. The bucket and shovel are from a Provo Craft set and the flip flops are from CTMH 's On the Beach set. I was going to use this as a birthday party invitation for a nine year old, but she decided on something else, because this just didn't say birthday to her! That's okay, she picked out something really cute and I will post her party invitations tomorrow. Have a great night!
